A BRIEF HISTORY

Intellbell Inc. was founded in 1991 by Greg Olson and Carl Towley. After working in the institutional fitness industry for over ten years, designing fitness equipment for companies such as Parabody®, and designing the free weight and modular lines for Cybex®. We wanted to start a company based on a unique technology. We knew we didn't want to be just another "me-too" manufacturer of generic weight lifting equipment.While researching the specialty fitness market we were continually amazed at the mountains of dumbbells we saw in every store we visited. We thought there must be a better way to provide fitness enthusiasts with the performance advantages of hand weights without the space and cost penalty inherent in the old fashioned hex head dumbbells and racks. Thus the idea for PowerBlock® was born and after two years of extensive development and testing PowerBlock® became a reality. Now, years later, we are proud to have over half a million made in U.S.A. products sold, and available in almost any country in the World. Dreams really can become reality. And hard work really can make dreams come true. We are proud to be small town, 100% made in U.S.A. And also proud of the fact that our PowerBlock® Team is still small enough to fit on a photo.
